How to Root OnePlus 3 OxygenOS 4.0 Nougat [Fix SIM Card not Detected]

Did you just update to OnePlus 3 OxygenOS 4.0? And now want to root OnePlus 3 OxygenOS 4.0? If yes, then you are on the right page.

I just downloaded OxygenOS 4.0 on my OnePlus 3 and I had to struggle a little bit while rooting OnePlus 3 OxygenOS 4.0 Nougat.

The superSU zip I found on xda to root OnePlus 3 OxygenOS 4.0 was giving me problems. My OnePlus 3 was not detecting any of my sim card. I tried different variations, stock recovery, different twrp, formating completely and what else. But it didn’t fix the problem.

I later realized the problem was happening only after flashing that particular superSU zip. And finally I found a suitable zip and got my Oneplus 3 OxygenOS 4.0 to root successfully. Find the steps that I used to root my OnePlus 3 below:

 Root OnePlus 3 OxygenOS 4.0 Nougat

  1. Download modified TWRP from this link.
  2. Download compatible SuperSU v2.79 from chainfire or here
  3. Copy SuperSU to internal storage
  4. Go to fastboot mode and flash recovery with the following command:

    fastboot flash recovery twrp-nougat.img

  5. Boot to recovery and wipe dalvik/cache
  6. Now flash the SuperSU you downloaded

You should be able to have root access now.

If you face any problem try full wipe and then flash the SuperSU. If you still find any problem mention in comments.
