There are times when we run out of ideas to blog about. Constantly coming up with new, fresh ways to go over the same old topics is hard work. Of course, you could always just host a promotional contest and giveaway beer koozies or whatnot, but then again, that takes planning. With that in mind, I want to offer you an alternative. If you think creatively, there are many topics that you can write about to breathe new life into your blog. Here are some example ideas that, though odd, will fit in nearly every type of blog as long as you twist it to your topic:

    Hi Kelsey,
I think you are correct these blogging ideas are truly very awkward. These concepts are infact not appreciated by visitors. Thanks for the share!!

Hi, Kelsey! I’d have to agree with Aditi here. For us who aren’t really born with the gift of gab, it’s a struggle for us to write about what you’ve listed above.

What I usually do is hang around Yahoo Answers and look for questions that I feel confident I can answer. I write an entire post based on the questions I find.

    Hi,
You are right. Everyone will have some expertise or some special interest towards some niche. Identify it and then you can overcome “the writing block” to some extent.

As of now, I think I haven’t still identified it. So I write on everything

      Hey Jakes,

Good to see you here, buddy.

I also haven’t identified something particular. I can just write on anything I know, or I learn.

You love to write, why not write here, on OddBlogger.com? 😀

      Give it a thought.

Thanks, for the article. The ideas not only odd but little bit tough for me also. Will try to do something with your ideas in near future.

Kelsey, thanks for the interesting and fun ideas. One other suggestion about holidays: Do a search for “odd holidays” or some such term and find out what weird holidays are happening or about to happen. For example, January holidays include Dress Up Your Pet Day, World Hypnotism Day, National Clean Off Your Desk Day and even Nothing Day!

With a quick search you are likely to find something to write about that is appropriate for your blog.

      Hello Cathy,

Good to see you here. Thank you for sharing your valuable thoughts.

Can you please tell me where did you find this post?

      • Cathy Stucker, January 5, 2013 @ 10:47 am Reply

I found this blog through a list of CommentLuv-enabled blogs (not sure which list). I have CL on some of my blogs and love (Or should I say ‘luv’?) it.

        Thanks for approving my comment!

        • Abhi, January 5, 2013 @ 10:50 am Reply

          That’s cool!

Well, I am glad to see you here. Would you please have a look to the article I have linked below, if you have time?

And if you are in guest Blogging, I welcome you on my blog.

          Thanks for stopping by!

I’m surprised at some of the negative comments here!

I found the list to be rather creative and inspirational. But then, my blog isn’t confined to a niche. I think if your blog is confined to a niche, and you run out of things to blog about, you’re in real trouble… maybe you picked the wrong niche.

On the other hand, you could creatively adapt many of these ideas to your own niche – rather than take them as a literal list of “what to blog about.” Say, for example, your blog’s niche is cell phones or gadgets. Here are just a few ideas to get you started:

Space – discuss how communications satellites work; are your messages really floating around on a “cloud” – and what happens when it rains?… 😉

Love – your latest technology “love”; worst text messages ever sent to break up with a lover; how technology helps/hinders interpersonal relationships…

Beauty – did you know that your front-facing smartphone camera can serve as a compact mirror when touching up your makeup?

Safety – using your smartphone to document damages in an accident…

Natural disasters – did you know that people discovered, during Hurricane Katrina, that even though cell phone service was widely unavailable, text messaging could be used to get word to loved ones that their relatives were safe?

Health – there are tons of diet and exercise apps out there, as well as apps to help teach first aid – which ones work, which ones are worthless? Do cell phone heart rate monitors actually work?

No, I’m not going through the whole list to do your work for you; by now, you get the idea. Get creative and write, or find another line of work. There are plenty of bloggers who will welcome the chance to fill the void.
