If you don’t know yet, OnePlus is going to skip OnePlus 4 and will launch OnePlus 5 directly. And the reason for that is:
In China number 4 is considered unlucky.
OnePlus launched the best smartphone of 2016, OnePlus 3, this year. And at the end of the year, they launched an upgraded version, OnePlus 3t. And before this phone could reach to a wide audience properly, speculations are that Oneplus will be launching OnePlus 5 next year. Of course, this version of OnePlus phone would be upgraded in every aspect.
OnePlus 5 Design
The unibody design of OnePlus 3T was very solid and gave a premium look to the phone. But rumors are that this time OnePlus will offer a ceramic body and maybe along with a combination of metal. Remember Google Pixel? There is not much buzz about this, but I think it will be waterproof as well. This was also one of the feature that was missed on OnePlus 3/
OnePlus 5 Screen
Oneplus 3 and 3T both featured a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display with full HD resolution. This was one of the major turn downs in this phone. Where all flagships are coming with Quad HD resolution, OnePlus opted for a full HD only. But in OnePlus 5, it is suggested that the resolution will increase now to Quad HD and for a bonus, the screen size will reduce to 5.3 inches. It will also result in a rise of pixel density from 401ppi to 554ppi.
OnePlus 5 Camera
OnePlus 3 & 3T camera was not the best, but it was pretty good when it comes to taking crisp pictures and now 60fps recording in 1080 resolution. Now they are going to load up the phone with a Dual Camera probably which many phones are having by now. No speculations particularly for camera resolution but OnePlus 5 will at least have a 16-megapixel sensor on front and rear camera just like its predecessor OnePlus 3T.
OnePlus Hardware
This is the part where OnePlus impresses everyone the most. OnePlus 3T had 6GB of ram and OnePlus will definitely try to upgrade that. So it will come with 8GB of RAM. It is expected to have Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 835 processor. OnePlus 5 will also get an upgrade in battery, it is expected to house a gigantic 4000 mAh battery.
In other features, OnePlus 5 is expected to have Qi Charging, Android 7 Nougat out of the box and 128 gb of storage.
